The most popular day to be married from 1905-1912 was Christmas day, which seems a strange date at first for a synagogue but of most of the people married at Sandys Row during that period were new migrants, who were probably working six days a week so because the 25th December was a national holiday, with no religious significance to the new Jewish community, this date quickly became the most popular day to be married at Sandys Row Synagogue.
